UQ Privacy Collection Notice – use of mRNArchitect Website
The BASE facility, at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) is part of The University of Queensland (UQ). The BASE facility is responsible for the mRNArchitect Website.
UQ is committed to protecting personal information and handling it in a transparent and responsible manner. This privacy collection notice outlines how UQ collects and manages personal information.

UQ is based in Queensland, Australia. Your personal information will be collected and managed in accordance with Queensland’s Information Privacy Act 2009.

What personal information does UQ collect about me, and how will that information be used?
UQ collects your personal information to manage your access to and use of the mRNArchitect Website and for the other purposes described below, as well as for purposes related to the purpose of collection where you would usually expect us to use it for such related purposes.

To whom will UQ disclose my personal information?
We may disclose your personal information to third parties who help us manage, develop, and host the mRNArchitect Website. iOnline Pty Ltd is our current website hosting provider and we may disclose your personal information to iOnline and its service suppliers as needed in relation to your access to and use of the mRNArchitect Website.
Personal information will not otherwise be disclosed to a third party, except in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld), including (but not limited to), where you have agreed to the information being disclosed, or where authorised or permitted by law.
How to access or amend your personal information?
If you wish to access or amend the information that AIBN holds about you, contact base@uq.edu.au or refer to the Access to and Amendment of UQ Documents Procedure.
Marketing communications
If you choose to opt in, UQ may use your name, institute, and email address to send you updates about mRNArchitect and related activities. You are not required to opt in to receive marketing communications in order to use the mRNArchitect Website. You may withdraw your consent to receive marketing communications at any time.
Sequence privacy and retention
The mRNArchitect Website accepts biological sequence inputs, including nucleic acid (DNA and RNA) and protein (amino acid) sequences, provided by users for the purpose of generating optimised RNA sequences. Input sequences are not used for any purpose other than generating the output requested in that session. Input sequences are processed transiently, and once the optimisation is complete and output sequence is returned, no copy of the input or output sequence is intentionally saved or stored on any server, database, or storage system operated by or on behalf of the BASE facility or The University of Queensland. Input/output sequences are not used to train/inform other analytical, research, or commercial activity. This does not affect the collection of ordinary account, website, security, or usage information described elsewhere in this Privacy Collection Notice.
